We hope this wiki (yes, it's the same software that runs Wikipedia) will serve as a collaborative space where we can work together to tell the story of the Yakima Basin and the work that is being done to manage and restore its fish, wildlife and water resources. Whether you are a long-timer in the basin looking for an old report you remember but can't find, a new hire wanting to understand more about the watershed you are starting a project in, or a member of the public that just stumbled here thanks to Google, this knowledge base is for you!

	This ~~online knowledge base will provide~~ a ~~place for folks to learn about the rich history of the Yakima Basin~~, ~~learn about events~~ and ~~activities~~ that ~~have influenced where we are today~~, ~~and provide a community resource for collaboration to move the Yakima Basin forward.~~		This is a collaborative, living effort that will grow as people lean in and contribute to it; if you see something that needs to be added or corrected or would like to become an editor so you can add your own content, do let us know!


			In addition to this wiki, we're making sure that key references are available. They are cited throughout this document and are included in our [https://www.zotero.org/groups/1635495/yakima_basin_references/library Zotero online library]; we're also working with the Yakima Valley Libraries to ensure the most important sources are in its digital archives. We're also building a GIS portal to share maps and geographic data for the basin; more on that in the near future!
