The Yakima Basin Fish & Wildlife Recovery Board (the Recovery Board) is pleased to announce the opening of the 2026 SRFB grant round. This year, the Recovery Board is seeking applications for three grant programs:
- Regular SRFB: Our flagship grant program for projects that promote recovery of salmon, steelhead, and bull trout in the Yakima Basin. This program is anticipated to have typical funding available, $1-2M. Match is no longer required (for most projects).
- Riparian: This relatively new grant program was funded for 2024 and 2025 only, but was set up so that any unallocated funds could roll over into the next year. In 2026, we are rolling over the last remaining $195k, and it is the last year we can distribute it. This grant program will use the same schedule and process as the regular SRFB grant program.
- Targeted Investments: The SRFB is running another round of this grant program for large, priority salmon recovery projects between $1-7M each. This is a statewide grant competition and the Yakima Basin can submit 2 projects for consideration. Funding available will be decided during the 2027 legislative session. This grant program will use the same schedule and local process as the regular SRFB grant program.
Please see the RFP for full details.
