~2026 SRFB Grant Round~

Sponsor Presentations

Ahtanum Creek

Lower Naches River
Our Ranked List Has Been Submitted!
The TAG and CC met in July for their project evaluation meetings. The TAG met first and developed a ranking recommendation based on projects’ biological benefits and technical merits. The CC then met and evaluated projects on their social, economic, and cultural benefits and impacts. The CC adjusted the TAG’s ranking based on these criteria, and then submitted the final ranked list to our Board of Directors, who approved it on August 5th at our Annual Meeting.
This year, we had a surplus of $61,841 in riparian funding with no way to spend it–unlike in 2024 and 2025, we would not be able to roll it over to next year’s grant round. Thankfully our colleagues at the Chehalis Basin Collaborative for Salmon Habitat, another Lead Entity, were able to swap their regular SRFB funds for our riparian funds. Heartfelt thanks to them for giving our regular SRFB cusp project, Salmon Creek Fish Passage Preliminary Design, another $61,841–this will allow the sponsor to complete conceptual designs! Teamwork makes the salmon recovery dream work!
See the final ranked list here. We are submitting 9 projects for funding totaling ~$10.3M of investment in salmon recovery in our basin ($1.3M of which we are allocated, and $9M of which we have to compete for in the Targeted Investments statewide grant pot).
The final step is to present the ranked lists to the SRFB at their September meeting–then project sponsors can get their projects under contract and get rolling!
Upcoming dates:
- SRFB Annual Meeting: Sept 15
